During President Emmanuel Macron’s state visit to Singapore, celebrating 60 years of French–Singaporean friendship, I had a moment (barely a minute, really) to share a quick thought on how France could help shape the future of aging.
As a government-appointed French Foreign Trade Advisor and CEO of a senior living platform in Asia, I see every day what each region brings to the table:
➡️ France's eldercare sector has recently gone through a tough period, but it remains the undisputed leader in Europe. Decades of experience have enabled efficient operations, integrated care systems, and a profound respect for the dignity of aging. Its research in geriatrics and eldercare still sets the standards.
➡️ Asia is moving fast. We’re seeing new models take shape, driven by advancements in longevity science, innovative funding structures, partnerships with insurers, and scalable operations. It’s changing what aging looks like, not just here, but globally.
There’s so much we can learn from each other. Not just best practices, but ways of rethinking aging that are relevant, scalable, and human.
And that’s part of what I try to do: connect the dots between policy, business, and care.
