It’s not every day you share a prime-time show with Singapore’s President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, then DBS CEO Piyush Gupta, and Dan Buettner, the National Geographic researcher known for his work on longevity!
I was honored to join them on "Ageing Redefined," an event by the DBS Foundation broadcast on CNA to discuss Singapore’s readiness for an aging population.
On the panel, I shared my perspective on how technology can make senior living more human, not robotic. Technology should empower caregivers and residents, not replace the human touch.
- Supporting independence: Smart solutions enable seniors to maintain autonomy and dignity, living as fully and normally as possible for as long as possible.
- Freeing up caregivers’ time: By automating routine tasks, technology allows caregivers to focus on what matters most: spending quality time with residents and building meaningful connections.
- Personalized, proactive care: AI adapts to individual needs, detects health risks early, and helps shift care from reaction to prevention.
- Strengthening social bonds: Virtual visits and engagement tools combat isolation and foster a sense of belonging, especially for those far from loved ones.
At its best, technology doesn’t replace human care; it enhances it. By handling repetitive tasks, it keeps the focus on empathy, connection, and quality care.
At Sindora Living 欣岳年 we bring this vision to life. Through innovations like the Teresa platform, we optimize caregiving, personalize resident experiences, and create communities where seniors feel supported and valued. Teresa helps us monitor and respond to residents’ needs in real-time, ensuring proactive, human-centered, and dignified care.
Thank you to the DBS Foundation, CNA, and my distinguished co-panelists for this meaningful discussion. Together, we’re shaping a brighter, more human future for senior living in Asia.
